AUTHOR'S NOTES
"I’m thrilled that the reviewers gave MY LORD BEAST outstanding reviews. Many asked that I write a book about two secondary characters, Ram Dass, the mysterious Indian servant who speaks with a perfect Oxford accent when alone with Aubrey, the tormented hero of the book, and Lady Caroline Berring, one of the possible brides Aubrey might be forced to choose. I'm happily involved in plotting Ram and Caroline's story now."

THE MOON RUNNERS
The lush time of ancient, epic Greece comes alive in this gripping novel of mythology, adventure, and romance...
In a time when the gods still walked the earth, a Macedonian king provoked by greed and jealously prepares to conquer neighboring Thessaly, renowned for its culture and riches.
The goddess Artemis has marked the Princess Atalante of Thessaly as the Sign Bearer and war leader of her country.
Believing the scar she bears disfigures her, Atalante hones her skills as war leader and accepts her fate to never know a man's love.
Prince Melanion of Macedonia battles his own demons. Torn between loyalty to his father, the king, and his chilhood vow to protect Thessaly, his mother's homeland, he escapes to the bordering mountains, where he meets Atalante. Drawn by trust and a burgeoning desire, they pledge at the altar of Artemis to attempt to avert the war to come....
AUTHOR'S NOTES
This book is very special to me. It was first written after a series of rides on horseback through our forest with my youngest daughter. She asked what I wanted to write next. I told her wanted to follow in Mary Renault’s footsteps (nobody ever said I wasn’t ambitious). I wanted to take the bare bones of a myth and make it come alive. I’d chosen the myth of Atalante, the fastest woman in the world.
She was the perfect heroine—brave, athletic, beautiful, determined. But one thing I couldn’ t understand. What, I asked my daughter, could compel a heroic woman to challenge a suitor to a foot race and, upon winning, kill the losing suitor in cold blood?
From that question came the germ of an idea and that became THE MOON RUNNERS, the story of the princess Atalante, marked by the goddess to lead her people against an evil conqueror. It’s a study of two heroes— Atalante, and the man she loves, her sworn enemy, Melanion. Separated by war and betrayal, they each have to make the ultimate sacrifice in order to save their people from destruction. And they each have to learn that even in the land of the dead, love never dies.

HEART OF FIRE
King Nicholas Rostov vows to protect his beloved country from both Napoleon's troops and the Brotherhood, a band of terrorists threatening his borders. When the mysterious slave, Sera, saves him from an assassination attempt, Nicholas brings her home with him, ostensibly to protect her. Conscience shouts that he should send her home to her hills, but desire whispers that her place is with him.
Little does Nicholas know that Sera is a princess in disguise. On the run from Anatole Galerien, who is determined to kill her, she is on a desperate quest to retrieve the stolen Heart of Fire, the magnificent ruby that hides her magical kingdom from the outside world. Now, a pampered prisoner in Nicholas's castle, Sera feels her magical powers growing at an alarming rate. Without her grandfather's help, she must learn to understand and control them before she shakes the very foundations of Nicholas's castle.
In this frightening land of strangers, war looms and danger lurks everywhere. As Sera struggles to keep her secrets, find the ruby, and master the magic inside her, she instinctively turns to the compelling captor who overwhelms her with his strength and confounds her with his comfort. But what good can come from loving an Outlander when her very survival depends upon her fleeing this brutal world and returning home?
AUTHOR'S NOTES
I really enjoyed writing HEART OF FIRE. First of all, it’s a fairy tale, and I’ve always been a sucker for fairy tales. But it was the characters that made sitting down every day at the computer some of the most fun I’ve ever had. Sera and Nicholas are worlds apart and just right for each other.
Nicholas is an absolute monarch. He has all the dedication, sincerity, and rigidity of a man who holds the fate of his country in his hands, and is never questioned. An honorable but unapproachable guy, he meets the slave, Sera in a neighboring kingdom, when she saves his life from a terrorist assassination attempt.
Against her will, he insists on bringing her home with him, and making a lady of her in return for her good deed. Little does he know that Sera is a princess in disguise, on a desperate quest to find the Heart of Fire, a magical ruby that keeps her hidden kingdom safe.
Of course, Sera turns his world upside down, makes him question his preconceptions, and helps him to understand his friends, his subjects and his own heart. It was great fun writing a love story and a fantasy in one. There’ s no doubt that HEART OF FIRE plays with geography and history. You won’t find Arkadia, Beaureve, and Laurentia on any map. For all of you who can put up with the idea of stretching the globe to fit in fictional kingdoms, here is their place on a map in 1812:
Laurentia and Beaureve are right next to each other south of Russia and north of the Ottoman Empire. They lie due south of Kiev, and east of Poland. The magical hidden kingdom Arkadia lies in the mountain range between Laurentia and Beaureve.
